The Volunteers of America Everett Food Bank supports more than 3,000 households every month with basic food items.
Considering that each individual or household is entitled to one emergency pickup of a 3-day / 9-meal food supply per month, one can only estimate the extent of the need in our immediate neighborhoods. And indeed, despite daily food pickup at grocery stores and the three large annual food drives that the Volunteers of America rely on each year, the need still exceeds the available resources.
The Everett Food Bank includes the Snohomish County Distribution Center, which distributes millions of pounds of food each year. In addition to food donation, the Distribution Center also leverages financial community support to purchase food in bulk, then breaks it down for individual families.
With the holidays fast approaching, our team at McClain Insurance Services has dedicated the month of October to the Everett Food Bank as part of our “Pay It Forward” Referral Rewards Program. If YOU would like to help, here is what you can do:
Simply refer a friend to McClain Insurance Services for a simple, hassle-free and no-obligation insurance policy review. If they call us and mention that they were referred by you(no worries – we ask every caller how they heard about us) we will make a $25 donation to the Everett Food Bank – whether they end up buying insurance from us or not.

Private food drives are the backbone of our Food Banks Food is the most basic need, but many of our neighbors struggle with having enough to eat. Even with daily pickups at area grocery stores and the three large annual food drives Volunteers of America can count on each year, we cannot keep up with the needs of vulnerable families. – See more at: http://www.voaww.org/Get-Help/Food/Food-Drives.aspx#sthash.HhPjaz0E.dpuf
