The other day, we had a wonderful proof of how working with an independent insurance agent to find the right combination of lowering deductibles and applying discounts can save hundreds of dollars in insurance premium.

My team member Nick helped a client who was in the process of purchasing a 2001 Mustang for his teenage son. A teen driver and a sports car – it is no secret that this can be a pricey combination when it comes to auto insurance! And indeed, our client felt that he was being overcharged on his auto insurance premium.

As our client told us later, he purchased the car from a private seller and was venting about his high insurance rates, when the seller, a retired Navy soldier in his mid-forties, replied: “What? I’m 40 and my insurance is charging me twice that amount!”

Our client went to the effort of calling us back to admit: “I guess you got me a pretty good rate!”
